Are the LanguageCert International ESOL qualifications recognised?

How long does it take for candidates to receive their LanguageCert International ESOL results?
  • Exams administered by Approved Test Centres: results are released 10 business days after the exam day.
  • Central exams: results are released 4-6 weeks after the exam day.
How long does it take for candidates to receive their LanguageCert International ESOL certificates?
  • e-certificate: sent with the release of results.
  • Hard-copy certificate: sent a week after the release of results.
Who informs candidates of their results?

LanguageCert or their Test Centre inform candidates of their results.

Are LanguageCert certificates sent directly to candidates?

Certificates may be sent directly to candidates or to the Test Centre.

How long are the certificates valid for?

LanguageCert International ESOL certificates are valid for life. However, it is recommended that candidates contact the institution/organisation they are applying to.

Who needs to be contacted if a certificate is lost?

Candidates need to contact the Test Centre where they took the exam or LanguageCert.

What happens in case a person succeeds only in either the Written or the Spoken exam?

Candidates are awarded with a certificate of the exam they succeeded in.

Free resit is offered to candidates who have taken the LanguageCert International ESOL Written and Spoken exams and succeed only in one of the two. The offer is valid for candidates who participated in both tests at the same level during the same examination period.

How can the validity of my LanguageCert International ESOL certificate be verified?

To check the validity of a LanguageCert International ESOL certificate, use the Online Certificate Verification Service.

What happens if a person holds either an IESOL or an ISESOL City & Guilds certificate?

If a person already holds a City & Guilds certificate, either IESOL or ISESOL, but not both, his/her certificate is not valid in Greece. In that case the person needs to pass both LanguageCert International ESOL Written and Spoken exams of the same level for their certification to be recognised by ASEP. The combination of a City & Guilds certificate and a LanguageCert International ESOL certificate is not recognised by ASEP.
