Why should you choose LanguageCert USAL esPro tests?

There are three separate tests (Listening & Reading, Writing, Speaking) leading to three separate certificates. The tests can be taken together or one at a time according to the candidates’ convenience (e.g. Speaking can be taken as a standalone test if only proof of the speaking ability has to be provided, for example for a job that requires certain skills).

There is no ‘Pass’ or ‘Fail’ mark, as candidates receive a grade on a scale of 0 to 100. Candidates who achieve a grade of 10 or above, receive a Certificate from A1 to C2 level depending on their performance.

The Computer-Based version is a Computer-Based Adaptive test.

All candidates receive electronically a Test Report with feedback demonstrating their performance per skill.

Provisional Computer-Based results for the Listening & Reading test are available immediately after the candidate takes the test, while final results are available shortly after.
What is a Computer-Based Adaptive test?
A Computer-Based Adaptive test includes a large number of questions, covering all levels of language proficiency (from basic to advanced). Questions appear on the computer’s screen and candidates need a keyboard and a mouse to respond. The test’s adaptive feature depicts the use of state-of-the-art assessment technology, given the fact that the questions are automatically selected based on the right or wrong responses provided by the candidate. In other words, the questions become progressively easier or more difficult, adapting uniquely to each candidate’s skills (i.e. if the candidate gives a wrong answer, an easier question follows; if the candidate gives a correct answer, the next question will be more difficult).
Should I take the Paper or the Computer-Based test?
The LanguageCert USAL esPro Listening & Reading test is offered in both Paper and Computer-Based versions for the schools/candidates’ convenience. Both versions are equivalent to one another. Therefore, no matter which version you choose, the same results will be produced, leading to a certificate depending on your performance. However, kindly note that the Computer-Based test duration is significantly shorter than the Paper-Based one.

What’s the difference among the 3 LanguageCert USAL esPro tests?
LanguageCert USAL esPro offers the following three tests to cover all four language skills:
- LanguageCert USAL esPro Listening & Reading (Paper & Computer-Based)
- LanguageCert USAL esPro Writing (Paper-Based)
- LanguageCert USAL esPro Speaking (Paper-Based)
Each test examines different abilities: Listening & Reading, Writing, and Speaking skills respectively. Candidates may take the above tests in any combination to meet their specific needs.
What could one use the results of a LanguageCert USAL esPro test for?

What does USAL stand for?
USAL stands for University of Salamanca, which through its Cursos Internacionales de la Universidad de Salamanca (CIUSAL) entity, has partnered with LanguageCert for the delivery of Professional Spanish language examinations worldwide. The two organisations have joined forces to continue offering the Spanish BULATS tests (Business Language Testing Service) under the new name LanguageCert USAL esPro. The tests continue to be developed by CIUSAL, however they are administered by LanguageCert, in Paper and Computer-Based versions.
