Examination Preparation

Do candidates have to take any course to sit for the LanguageCert International ESOL exams?

Candidates are not required to complete any course in order to take the LanguageCert International ESOL examinations. They may sit for the exams straight away, if they feel confident about their level of English. It is recommended that candidates undertake a short course where the exam tasks are explained. All our LanguageCert Approved Test Centres offer courses which prepare candidates for the examinations. Candidates should contact the nearest Test Centre to enquire about the available courses.

Do the learners have to follow a certain course book?
The communicative LanguageCert International ESOL qualifications assess the level of each candidate’s English language proficiency, and not whether the candidate is familiar with a specific exam format. Therefore, all English course books can be used. Books with LanguageCert International ESOL Practice Papers are available by a number of Publishing Houses.
