LanguageCert USAL esPro Tests Results & Certificates

The LanguageCert USAL esPro scores are presented on a scale of 1 to100 and are mapped to the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as follows:

Test takers upon the completion of a LanguageCert USAL esPro test will receive:

  • Test Report: presenting separately but in a clear and easy-to-understand way the candidate’s score for each test taken (Listening & Reading ⃰ , Writing, Speaking), and a summary of “Can-Do” statements aligned with CEFR levels. These are functional/ situational statements that describe what a candidate would be expected to do at a work place at a specific CEFR level in Spanish.
  • Certificate: presenting the candidate’s results corresponding to a level from A1 to C2 for scores of 10 or above.

Please note that if a candidate’s score is between 0-9, the provisional results after finishing the Computer-Based test will show a score of 0.

⃰In the case of the Listening & Reading test, the candidate receives a Test Report presenting the overall score resulting from the combination of the two skills, as well as the separate scores of the two language skills.

 

What does each level mean?

 

A1

You can use everyday expressions and very basic phrases for practical needs, ask and answer questions about personal details, understand short texts on familiar topics, obtain information from signs and symbols and write simple sentences in documents, e.g. forms.

 

A2

You can understand sentences and frequently used expressions, communicate in tasks requiring exchange of information, obtain information from short documents, familiar sources, signs and symbols, and write to communicate with some awareness of intended audience.

 

B1

You can understand main points of clear standard communication, convey information, feelings and opinions on familiar topics, engage in discussion to reach shared understanding, produce simple connected text and describe experiences, events, hopes and ambitions.

 

B2

You can understand main ideas of complex communication, interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity without strain for either party, engage in discussion in familiar and unfamiliar situations, and communicate in detail, appropriate to purpose and audience.

 

C1

You can understand demanding texts and recognise implicit meaning, use language fluently and spontaneously, engage in discussion making clear and effective contributions, produce well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects and communicate ideas effectively.

 

C2

You can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read, summarise information, reconstruct arguments and accounts coherently, and express yourself spontaneously, fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
