House of English is located in Lamia, Central Greece and it is the brainchild of Elizabeth Veliou and Argiris Tzimas who set it up in 2014 with the desire to change the face of education in the area. Students acquire knowledge through experiential learning and multisensory activities, while 21st-century skills are implemented in the syllabus. Literature, arts, culture and project-based learning are also integrated into language learning. Part of the school’s mentality is that students should learn the new language holistically, so as to acquire the necessary skills in order to use the language efficiently in their lives.
With more than 200 students in the 5th year of its operation, House of English is considered to be a model language school not only in Lamia but also in Greece. Today, as a new LanguageCert Approved Test Centre, it offers the internationally recognised LanguageCert International ESOL qualifications, providing a unique educational and assessment experience to its learners.
