If you are working with a printed copy of a server document that has a barcode or label, you can use the barcode or label information to search for the original version of that document on a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 site. This is helpful if you are not sure whether the copy of the document you have is the most recent version of the document.
- In the Search box at the top of the page, type the label text or the barcode number for the document you want to locate.
- Click Go Search.
- Locate the document or item you want in the search results list.
Note
If you have just uploaded a document, its barcode or label may not be searchable until it is indexed by search.
